You may:
- Create and keep a personal account if you are age 18 or older.

- Use the AI assistant for personal, non-clinical information, subject to the Medical Disclaimer.
- Join community discussion consistent with the Community Guidelines.
- Export available data for your own portability, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Contact support and exercise privacy rights in good faith.
3. Prohibited Use
You may not use the Services to:
Unlawful or harmful activity
- Violate applicable law.
- Exploit, harm, or attempt to harm minors.
- Promote or facilitate violence, self-harm, or illegal drug manufacture.
- Commit fraud, identity theft, phishing, or social engineering.
- Stalk, harass, threaten, dox, or defame others.
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
Accounts and access
- Share, sell, rent, or transfer accounts.
- Create accounts by automated means or under a false identity.
- Circumvent suspension, rate limits, entitlement checks, or paywalls.
- Access another user’s Environment, data, or private community content without authorization.
- Impersonate staff, clinicians, or other users.
Service integrity
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services, servers, or networks.
- Introduce malware or other malicious code.
- Flood traffic or attempt to deny service.
- Probe or test security except as allowed in Section 7.
- Bypass authentication, authorization, or encryption.
- Run unrelated workloads (including cryptocurrency mining) on our infrastructure.
Scraping, bulk extraction, and resale
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically download the food or nutrient catalog, Knowledge or help content, or engine outputs at scale.
- Use bots or automated tools to extract data beyond ordinary interactive use. Ordinary browser use and documented product features are fine.
- Resell, republish, or commercially redistribute our curated datasets, scoring logic, or non-public API responses.
- Build a competing nutrition database primarily by copying content.
- Strip proprietary notices from materials you are otherwise allowed to keep for personal use.
Public-domain nutrient source values are not forbidden for personal or academic use merely because they also appear in our product. Wholesale cloning of our compilation, design, or non-public enrichment is prohibited.
Spam, privacy, and partner links
- Send spam or unsolicited promotions, or use the Services as a bulk marketing platform.
- Manipulate partner or affiliate click measurement.
- Upload others’ Personal Data or Special Category Health Data without a lawful basis.
- Try to re-identify pseudonymous analytics or outbound click records, or collect information about other users for unauthorized profiling.
4. AI Assistant
The AI assistant is an informational tool. In addition to Section 3, you may not:
- Use it as an emergency service or as a substitute for urgent clinical care.
- Try to obtain prescription dosing, controlled-substance guidance, or instructions to self-manage acute obstetric emergencies instead of seeking professional care.
- Defeat safety filters or system rules to elicit dangerous medical instructions.
- Generate content intended to discourage necessary prenatal care or emergency help when symptoms warrant it. Lawful discussion of personal choices is not the same as campaigning to cause harm.
- Exfiltrate system instructions, hidden tools, or other users’ data through the assistant.
- Use the assistant to generate malware, phishing kits, or exploit code, or to bypass AI rate limits or entitlements.
- Generate bulk health misinformation for distribution off-platform, or deceptive “clinical looking” documents meant to mislead patients or providers.
- Submit other people’s sensitive health data into prompts without authorization.
- Represent AI text as professional medical advice or as Optimal’s clinical opinion.
See the Medical Disclaimer and Automated Decisions. AI output can be wrong.
5. Community
Where community features are enabled, you must also follow the Community Guidelines. In particular:
- No hate speech, harassment, or bullying.
- No sexually explicit content involving minors, and no non-consensual intimate imagery.
- Peer support is welcome. Do not present yourself as a clinician unless you are one, you state your credentials, and you make clear you are not providing care through the platform. Do not prescribe drugs or dosages to other users.
- Do not run health misinformation campaigns.
- Do not post spam, scams, undisclosed paid promotion, or malware links. Respect the Copyright & DMCA Policy.
- Do not try to pull other users’ health timeline data through community features.
6. Logging, Scores & Integrity
Personal, imperfect meal logging is expected and allowed.
You may not:
- Falsify lab values, meal logs, or journal data to defraud research, insurance, employers, or clinical trials.
- Misrepresent Day Scores, optimizer outputs, or blood-marker comparisons as certified clinical results.
- Tamper with the product to fake entitlement or scores for deceptive commercial use.
7. Security Research
We welcome good-faith security research under the Vulnerability Disclosure Policy. You may research in-scope systems with your own test accounts and report issues to [email protected].
Without prior written authorization, you may not degrade the service for others, access other people’s Personal Data or Special Category Health Data, use ransomware or extortion, disclose a live issue before the coordinated timelines in that policy, socially engineer staff or users, or attack physical sites or third-party providers outside any program they run.
Unauthorized security testing violates this AUP and may be a criminal offense. If you are unsure, email [email protected] before testing.
8. Enforcement
We may, with or without notice where appropriate: remove or restrict content; rate-limit abusive clients; suspend or terminate accounts; revoke API or community access; report unlawful activity to authorities; and pursue civil remedies.
We consider severity, intent, history, impact on pregnancy-health users, and legal duties. We do not undertake a general duty to monitor all user content, but we may moderate as the law allows.
Appeals. If you believe enforcement was in error, write to [email protected] or [email protected] with your account email and a brief explanation. We will review in good faith. The community host may offer additional appeal paths.
