LegalAccessibility Statement
Accessibility Statement
1. Commitment
Optimal provides a pregnancy-nutrition planning product. People should be able to plan meals, learn, and manage their accounts regardless of disability, assistive technology, or temporary impairment.
We work to improve the accessibility of public marketing and Learning Center pages, Help Center content, account and authentication flows, the signed-in nutrition planner, and legal and policy pages.
2. Conformance
Our target is WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). We consider WCAG 2.2 guidance where practical as we iterate.
Status: Partial conformance, with ongoing improvement. We have not published a third-party WCAG audit certificate for the full product. Individual screens may meet AA while others do not.
We update this statement when the product changes materially.
3. Measures
Where implemented, we:
- Structure pages with headings, landmarks, and labels;
- Make primary interactive controls reachable by keyboard, with visible focus;
- Aim for readable color contrast in our design tokens, including dark theme on some surfaces;
- Distinguish decorative from informative images on editorial content;
- Respect reduced-motion preferences;
- Provide text-visible errors on first-party forms.
4. Limitations
These areas may create barriers today. The list is not exhaustive.
- Dense planner. Complex grids, meal editors, and multi-panel layouts can be difficult with a screen reader or a small viewport.
- Charts. Visual scores and nutrient charts may lack full text equivalents or automatic spoken updates. Numeric summaries in the interface are the more complete reading.
- Some editors. A few interactions are pointer-first. Keyboard alternatives exist in places. Please report gaps.
- AI chat. Streaming replies can be awkward for some assistive technologies. Message history remains in the page.
- Community. The community is hosted by a provider, so accessibility there follows that platform's capabilities. Report forum issues to us and we will escalate where we can.
- Sign-in screens. Authentication Provider-hosted screens are outside our full design control.
- Language. The product is English-primary. Limited localization can add cognitive load for people who do not read English fluently.
- Exports. Downloadable files may not be fully tagged accessible documents. Ask us for an alternative format.
Absence of an item from this list does not mean full conformance.
Core experiences should remain usable at increased zoom or text size. Dense tables may require horizontal scrolling.
5. Feedback & Alternative Formats
If you encounter an accessibility barrier:
- Email [email protected] (or [email protected] if that address is easier).
- Include the page URL or screen name, what you were trying to do, your assistive technology, browser, and operating system if known, and a short description of the barrier.
We aim to acknowledge your report within 10 business days and to provide a timeline or workaround where we can.
On request, we will make reasonable efforts to provide information in an alternative format (for example, clearer HTML or structured export assistance) via [email protected] or [email protected].
6. Rights
This statement does not limit rights you may have under disability and equality laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in the United States, the European Accessibility Act and national implementations in the EU, and the Equality Act 2010 in the United Kingdom.
